Foreigners buying the same number of properties as they were pre-recession
This article in Sur in English says “Figures for the first six months of this year show that the number of trasactions by non-residents has exceeded those in 2007 the year the real estate bubble burst”
I think this is a very significant figure. The Spanish are very good at statistics of this kind. There are still many uncertainties and other differences between 2007 and today but a good volume of transactions in the market makes it possible to understand the market. It allows you to say with confidence whether the market is rising or falling or in other ways healthy. A low volume of transactions is very bad for confidence. The fact that this has surpassed pre-recession figures is, as I say, significant.
