Eco Vida Homes was established to guide our clients through this journey, overcoming three major challenges: dealing with the bureaucracy, controlling costs, and working with reliable people.
Who’s Eco Vida Homes?
Eco Vida Homes was founded by John Wolfendale, an entrepreneur with the mission of bringing clarity, transparency, and reliability to people who want to build a villa in Spain.
John is a British Chartered Surveyor with 30 years’ experience living and working in Spain. Before that he spent ten years in the commercial property investment market in London working for Postel (now Hermes), Chartwell Land (Kingfisher) and later in Madrid for Continente (Promodes). His role was to advise institutional investors on long term commercial property developments and investments such as shopping centres, industrial parks and City office buildings. John’s still does some pre-purchase building surveys and valuations in Spain to RICS standards.

Why the name Eco Vida Homes?
Eco stands for ecological. It’s important to us that we lower the impact that building and running domestic housing has on the environment. Happily, this also means more comfortable, more valuable homes that are less expensive to run so it’s a win all round.
Vida is the Spanish word for “life” and we believe that building a home is about creating a lifestyle. So the name embraces designing homes that make the most of the Mediterranean climate and the particular setting of the villa. The design will enable our clients and their family and friends to live their best and healthiest lives.
Today Eco Vida Homes is an up market Design & Build company with a reach across the whole of Spain that takes the stress out of building or renovating a villa. We are a small business so you will be an important client to us. We deal with all the bureaucracy. We have a method for staying on budget. And, we have a simple communications system that keeps the project under control and you fully informed.
